Join us at the Fisherman’s Lodge in Cotter, Arkansas, for an exciting women’s fishing trip on the White River. This is an adventure trip for both novice and experienced female anglers with campers arriving on Thursday afternoon, March 15, 2018. We’ll be enjoying dinner provided by the lodge in their big dining room as we settle into deluxe semi-private rooms and each has its own bathroom!
Early on Friday morning we’ll be taking off on the White River in a group of fishing boats, each with a professional fishing guide. This time frame in March is well-known for the big Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout as well. Women will have the opportunity to spin cast or learn how to fly fish. We’ll be coming back in from the river for a few hours to enjoy a deli lunch provided at the lodge and then back out for the afternoon of fishing. At lunchtime and again in the evening there will be an archery program available at the lodge. This program will be led by Lanny Barnes; WOMA board member and Babes instructor, along with being an outstanding archer! The same itinerary will be offered on Saturday with departure on Sunday morning, March 18, 2018.
All the fishing equipment, guides, boats, housing and food is provided for campers at $850 per gal for this 3 day deluxe program. The cost of a “non resident” fishing license is $28 per person and once you are registered we’ll send the link for purchasing an Arkansas fishing license online. The closest airport of size is Springfield, MO, though some ladies may elect to travel up from Little Rock, Arkansas, which has Southwest service. (The camp does not provided shuttle service however we will send out camper updates to see who might want to carpool to the lodge.)
Besides having the option to learning fly fishing from experts or spin casting (this is Deb’s preferred method) you get to keep your fish as well; up to five of them per day! Your guides will clean/bag them for you so your next fish dinner is ready to go home when you are!
The Fisherman’s Lodge is operated by David and Ginny Capps since 2003 and is a perfect launch of LACE (Ladies Adventure Camp Experience.) LACE is operated by Deb Ferns, who is the co-founder of Babes with Bullets and Founder of the Women’s Outdoor Media Association.
FYI - David is a licensed Coast Guard Captain and has guided on the Arkansas White River for over 30 years!
